We all love cheap clothes. the quality isn't always great but at least
they are fast and afordable.Companies such as Primark and Forever 21 know
that the cheaper the product is, the more consumers they will draw but
this has lead to terrible consequences.
In the past clothes were only
bought when needed and shoping was more of an event but in the
contemporary society that we live in today, it is estimated that the
average person only wears a garment a number of seven times before being
thown away according to a 2015 study by the British charity Barnado's.
Whats even worse is that the clothes we wear are usualy infused or fully
made out of non-biodegradable materials such as polyester, nylon, rayon
and spandex which could take up to 200 years to fully biodegrade these
textiles. An eco friendly alternitive to this would be to reuse these
textiles when they have been thrown away or to make clothes out of 100%
biodegradable resources.
